Miller's Landing offers Full Day Fishing Charters for Halibut/King Salmon, aiming to catch daily limits of Halibut, King Salmon, and Rockfish. Departing at 6am, guests will travel to prime fishing locations, potentially going 60+ miles to target King Salmon off Cape Cleare. The fishing methods include trolling or mooching with hardware and bait to target Kings in the water column. The spring season is an excellent time to target both species, with some of the largest halibut harvested during this time. If weather conditions do not allow for the intended route, the charter will explore the barrier islands, moraines, and submerged structures of Kenai Fjords National Park. The area offers more protection from the elements and a diverse fishing experience with stunning scenery. Trips are available from May 1 to June 19, focusing on Halibut and King Salmon fishing depending on tides and client preferences. After June 19, King/Hali combination trips can be arranged for whole boat bookings, with prices varying post June 19. King Salmon, also known as chinook, are the largest local salmon species targeted during the charters, with sizes ranging from 10 to 50+ pounds. Feeder kings are targeted, which are king salmon that have not yet started their journey to the river to spawn. The state of Alaska limits the harvest to one or two King Salmon per person, depending on the fishing area. The charter emphasizes respect for the fishery, with senior crew members handling the filleting process.
